The worship of God is a priority at STBC because God is deserving of our worship and we were created to worship. The Scriptures have revealed to us a God like no other. A God that is worthy of our honor and adoration. As Psalm 96:9 says, “Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth!” And Jesus said in John 4:23 that the Father is seeking people to worship Him. This means that we were saved to worship our Lord.
The worship of God is so central to the Bible and the Christian life that one might argue that it is the major theme of Scripture, human history, and all of eternity. This reality is manifested at STBC individually and corporately. As Romans 12:1-2 says, we are “to present [our] bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is our spiritual service of worship." In other words, our obedience to the commands of Scripture is an act of worship.
The corporate worship of God happens when we gather together to exalt His name through the reading and preaching of the Word, prayer, singing, and the ordinances (i.e., baptism and Communion)
