Gary Bloomquist has served San Tan Bible Church as the Worship and Executive Pastor and Elder since its beginning in February of 2008. Prior to this, he was the Worship Pastor at East Valley Bible Church for 15 years, Worship Pastor/Creative Arts Director for Canyon Creek Community Church, Worship Pastor at Grace Church in San Luis Obispo and Associate Worship Pastor at Grace Community Church, Tempe. In his early years he traveled for three years with the international Gospel Touring / Recording Company called “Eternity” – whose purpose was to share the Gospel through message and song. He has conducted the Phoenix Symphony, conducted a 400-voice chorale for Ralph Carmichael’s Hymn Sing. Gary has also worked with Keith & Kristin Getty, facilitating and conducting a 200-voice choir for their tour of “Sing Christmas” in 2019. Gary is also the founder and director of Worship Leader’s Network, a ministry to train and teach worship leaders in intentional, biblical praise and worship.
Gary earned his undergraduate degrees from NAU (Flagstaff) in Music, History, Pre-Ministerial Philosophy & Pre-Med, including Law & Logic. His post-graduate work at Southwestern Seminary included the Masters of Church Worship. He completed his Master’s in Theology and Biblical Studies from Phoenix Seminary.
Gary is married to Robyn, who coordinates Women’s Ministry and Frontline Ministry. They have two grown children. Their son John-Michael is married to Victoria, they have a son, Theo, and they live in Washington DC. Their daughter Hannah is married to Kasey Leander, they also have a son, Knox, and they live on Lookout Mountain in Georgia.
