Throughout the pages of Scripture, the importance and influence of women is highlighted and exalted. From the very first chapter of Genesis to the accounts of believers in the early church, the role of women in God’s plan of redemption is emphasized. What can be learned from studying the accounts of their lives, joys, wisdom, failures and successes? These ordinary women, used by God in extraordinary ways, serve as powerful examples for us today as we strive to become like the “excellent wife” described in Proverbs 31 and to fulfill mandates such as those in Titus 2 to train and equip other women to grow in their walk with the Lord. Expect to be encouraged and challenged as we journey through Scripture together and study the accounts of these remarkable women of faith.
